  Having come from a lovely, well appointed motel in Denmark, I checked in to the Kingsley Motel after a long day’s work and was immediately given a reality check on the stark contrasts in motel room appointments and value.

  Now, regional accommodation can be hit and miss, but this was a huge miss and drastically overpriced. As a final kick in the guts, the TV switched on, blaring at 4.45am due to the wake up feature still being active from a previous stay. I suspect others suffered the same experience, as the TV power socket was off when I arrived. I expect my Neighbour was as annoyed as I was.

  The ONLY appliance was a kettle, which needed to be filled cup by cup from the bathroom basin due to the absence of any form of water jug. There was the usual Motel teabags and coffee / sugar sachets, but no spoon. No cutlery whatsoever.

  After a 13hr day, I should have stayed another night, but packed up and made the trip back to Perth to avoid another night in this overpriced dive. I give 1 star purely for the good bed, but good beds in an old, junk room don’t make for good accommodation.

  The laminated bathroom bench top was separating, probably due to the amount of water that gets past the limp shower curtain.

  The 2 previous nights accommodation ELSEWHERE was $130, which got fresh, clean, big rooms, microwave, toaster, awesome dry bathroom with glass shower cubicle.

  The entry area’s bench / cupboard area looks like it hasn’t been maintained since its original 1970’s (ish) install date.

  Got the 'older room's but despite it not looking the best, was the most comfortable bed I have slept in a long time. Friendly staff and very helpful.

  I don't now where all these people stayed but the room we got the door won't close the curtains a disgusting they don't even close the shower Curtin is black but bent to be white i am discussed and 150 dollars a night I would have been better at the back packers , and the bar fridge is older then my granny so if u gonna charge that much fix it up i won't be staying here

  The Kingsley room had a great bed, good TV and a nice, firm hot shower - but that’s where the positives ended.
